We take a look at our home Folkness-ambassador Lovisa, in the turn-of-the-century house she always dreamed of
BRIEF ABOUT LOVISA HILLHAMMAR
Living: In the turn-of-the-century villa in Kungsbacka that we can finally call our HOME; here we renovate long-term for ourselves and not to one day be able to get the money back!
Family: Lives with my husband Anton and our two daughters Mila (5 years) and Vera (3 years).
What do you work on: I work as Commercial Manager at Polestar
What do you do when you're not decorating and making nice at home: Love spending time with family and friends! We love to travel; eat good food and drink good wine. Running flea markets and auctions has long been a great hobby!
What is the best thing about Folkness: I love to Folkness products are so nice and easy to wash. With small children and a house in constant change, things that are easy to take care of are perfect. The colors are also absolutely magical!
In 2022, Lovisa and her husband Anton took on the challenge of renovating their newly purchased house to recreate and enhance the historic feel and make it their own. With a keen interest in interior design and renovation, the couple have carefully selected details that reflect their personal style.
Furnishings that last over time
For us, the most important thing is that the home feels homely and cosy," says Lovisa. "We always think long-term and prefer to follow our own style rather than temporary trends. Much of the decor comes from my very first home β furniture that I loved then and still love ten years later. We have combined these with new, handpicked pieces to create a harmonious mix.

Sources of inspiration that shape a home
Lovisa draws inspiration from several sources, especially from old antiques with stories to tell. "I love to be inspired by everyday life and films from the past. The Carl Larsson farm is also a great source of inspiration for me! We have incorporated Swedish folk art and country details into the interior, which gives a warm and inviting feeling

Renovation journey with a focus on details
In 2022, Lovisa and Anton started their big project of renovating the house. "We wanted everything from materials to color choices to match and give a uniform feel," explains Lovisa. They began by carefully selecting colors that reflect the original character of the house. The living room was given a calm palette of beige and creamy white tones, while the kitchen was highlighted with a warm shade of green, checkerboard floor and red kitchen island.
The old plank floors were restored to their former glory by being carefully sanded down and treated to preserve the natural beauty of the wood. In the dining room, Anton added handmade mirrors that not only enlarge the room but also reflect the natural light of the house in an incredible way.

When we talk about what does Folkness especially for her, Lovisa highlights how their products make her everyday life easier. βI love to Folkness products are so nice and easy to wash. With small children and a house in constant change, things that are easy to take care of are perfect. The colors are also absolutely magical!
